Original story (published on April 13) follows:

One of the things that Asus has been able to master, is coming up with weirdly named smartphones. Now, I will not go into the details, but I will leave you with the names of two devices, Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 and Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 (sigh!).

Interestingly, the Android 10 updates for these two devices, i.e. Max Pro M1 and Max Pro M2 is still nowhere to be seen and we are already in the third week of April.

Noticeably, the Android 10 beta update has already been out for the Max Pro M1 and Max Pro M2 since January 2020, but there have been no further developments in this regard as of yet.

However, fortunately for the Max Pro M1, there was a report that we have covered where it was revealed that the Android 10 update for the device was under evaluation and clarity related to its status was expected by March-end.

However, being an open-source platform, Android provides the developers a free-hand to come up with custom ROMs, so that interested users can root their phones and install the custom ROMs on their devices to enjoy the latest OS features while the official ROM is cooked by the OEM.

And luckily, both Max Pro M1 and Max Pro M2 have received Android 10 in form of LineageOS 17.1. But, for those who are waiting for the official Android 10 ROM on their units, there is some news regarding it.

Going by the recent report, responding to a user query, Asus support stated that, the company is working “extensively” to roll out the Android 10 update in the near future.

Hi there, we understand the emotions of our users regarding the stable Android update. Our team is working extensively to ensure a better Android experience for our users. We’d appreciate if you give us some time while we aim to provide Android 10 soon.

Moreover, the company has also stated that Asus is working on the feedback received from the beta testers.

we are working on the feedback given by our Beta testers to ensure a thorough and complete stable Android for our users.

These responses are pretty generic and it is more or less similar to what the company has been asking up until now to wait for the update to officially roll out, but the wait is not yet over for the users.
