Asus should release the stable ZenFone Max Pro M2 Android 10 update in the course of this month or probably in June. Up to this point, no one actually knows what is going on with the update.

The beta version arrived in late January 2020. Months later, there is still no sign of a stable release. If it makes you feel any better, the story is also true for owners of the older ZenFone Max Pro M1.

While Asus is still dillydallying with the ZenFone Max Pro M2 Android 10 update, folks behind the increasingly popular Pixel Experience custom ROM already have a couple of stable Android 10-based firmware for the device.

Matter of fact, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 Pixel Experience ROM is late to the party following the release of a similar ROM for the Max Pro M1 several days ago.

It doesn’t end there. If not interested in the Pixel Experience ROM, there is room to grab the Pixel Experience Plus Edition for your ZenFone Max Pro M2. Both ROMs are based on Android 10 OS and are available to download and install straight away.

The Pixel Experience and Pixel Experience Plus aren’t the only custom ROMs aimed at the popular ZenFone Max Pro M2 handset. The device already picked up support for LineageOS 17.1 based on Android 10 and there should probably be more ROMs on XDA Developers.

Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem. Expect insightful articles and explorations of the ever-evolving world of Android and Google products coupled with occasional rants on the Nest smart home ecosystem.
