[Poll] Hey Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1/M2 owners, still interested in the stable update to Android 10?

[Poll] Hey Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1/M2 owners, still interested in the stable update to Android 10?

It is now nearly a year since Asus started testing the beta version of Android 10 on the ZenFone Max Pro M1 and ZenFone Max Pro M2 handsets.

The update first arrived in January 2020 and so far, a number of beta iterations have been pushed to both devices. But none of them has culminated into the stable release.

With each Android 10 beta release comes new bug fixes, optimizations, and some under-the-hood system improvements. However, these updates also tag along new, unwanted guests.

For instance, the most recent iteration to beta 4 for ZenFone Max Pro M1 brought a black flash issue while using gesture navigation as well as poor Wi-Fi and call disconnection tone issues.

Sure, Asus is reportedly looking into these issues with an aim of addressing them in future updates, but recent developments cast a shadow of doubt on what the future holds for the ZenFone Max Pro M1 and M2 handsets.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M2 unlikely to get stable Android 10 update

According to reports coming from France, Asus has no immediate plans of migrating the ZenFone Max Pro M1 to the stable version of Android 10 update.

To date, only the developer version is available for download in Android 10 for the ZF Max Pro M1. No other version is planned for this smartphone at this time.

Although unclear if the ZenFone Max Pro M2 is also affected, it is likely. As per Asus France, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 will remain on Android 10 beta for the time being, but no one knows for how longer.

With the company having already shifted its attention to Android 11 development, at least for the flagship ZenFone, chances of a stable Android 10 update for the Max Pro M1 and M2 keep growing slimmer.

But even so, after nearly a year of waiting, perhaps many ZenFone Max Pro M1 and M2 owners no longer have the same desire to switch to Android 10 as they did at the beginning of this year.

If anything, this should partly explain the result we got in our previous poll on whether to stick with Asus or ditch the brand for your next budget phone, as seen below.

Asus promised to provide two Android OS updates to both ZenFone Max Pro M1 and Max Pro M2. But by the look of things, this may never materialize – or at least not anytime soon.

With that said, the big question is are you still interested in upgrading your ZenFone Max Pro M1/M2 device to the stable version of Android 10 or none of this matters to you anymore?

You can either drop a comment in the section at the end of this article, cast your vote on the Twitter poll below or do both, as you wish. The poll results will be out after one week.

Are you still interested in upgrading your ZenFone Max Pro M1/M2 to stable Android 10 or it doesn't matter anymore?
