Original story (published on November 06, 2020) follows:

There are several Nokia devices that are eligible for Android 11. Among them Nokia 8.3, Nokia 8.1, Nokia 2.2, and Nokia 5.3.

While Nokia has officially shared the Android 11 update roadmap, it is unclear when exactly the latest OS update will start rolling out.

It must be noted that Nokia 8.3 5G is labeled as “Android 11 ready” by the OEM and it is expected to be the very first device to bag the latest OS update.

However, looking at how Nokia 7.2 and Nokia 6.2 got upgraded to Android 10, it is hard to believe that Nokia 8.3 5G is going to get the said update anytime soon.

As per the official Nokia Android 11 roadmap, the Nokia 8.3 5G, 8.1, 2.2, and 5.3 are expected to get the OS update between Q4 2020 and Q1 2021.

So far, the Nokia 5.3 has been spotted running Android 11 on Geekbench while there is no such info about the rest of the aforementioned devices.

Going by the Nokia 5.3 reports, it is possible the OS update might arrive within the given time frame, but then again, it’s Geekbench!

Nevertheless, the lack of details about the rest of devices, more so the Nokia 8.3, suggests that Nokia might not be able to live up to the Android One standards.

Another interesting thing to note is that Nokia 9 PureView, which dons the flagship device status, is slated to get the Android 11 update in the second quarter of 2021.

While this might indicate that Nokia does not want to rush with latest OS update, it might also mean that the OEM is prioritizing its budget devices over the premium offering in the lineup so far.

Also, Nokia did not take part in the Android 11 beta program this year which might be why the OEM is late with the latest OS update.
