[Cont. updated] Samsung Galaxy A50 One UI 2.5 update status: Here’s the story so far
New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on November 03, 2020) follows:
Samsung is currently focused on its Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update but the likes of Galaxy A50 are still awaiting One UI 2.5.
However, it is unclear whether Samsung is planning to straight up provide the One UI 3.0 (Android 11) update to the device in question or will push One UI 2.5 first.
Now, a user has shed some light on the fact that the OEM is hiding its plans for the Galaxy A50 as Samsung has restricted the CheckFirm app from getting info about the latest test firmware available.
Few days ago, Samsung decided to hide the latest test firmware information from their server. That’s why CheckFirm cannot find A50 firmware information.
This might mean that Samsung might be hiding the One UI 2.5 but it could also mean that the next firmware might be One UI 3.0 (Android 11).
While all this is still based on our speculation, the OEM hiding firmware details for the Galaxy A50 is a bit off, but it may as well be the sign we all are looking for.
Nevertheless, the most recent development that has made users more anxious about One UI 2.5 is the One UI 2-based November security update which is rolling out to the Galaxy A50 now.
Samsung’s plans for the Galaxy A50 remain unclear as of this writing but the CheckFirm app restriction clearly suggests that the OEM might be onto something here.
Be it the much-awaited One UI 2.5 update or the promised Android 11-based One UI 3.0, users will have to wait until the OEM finally decides to reveal the relevant details.
That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will keep updating this post as and when new information becomes available.
In the meantime, you can check out our One UI 2.5 update tracker to get the latest updates on the topic.
Also, we have a dedicated Samsung Android 11 (One UI 3.0) update tracker that you can go through as well.
