New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Realme 2 Pro is no longer the company’s flagship offering following the subsequent arrival of Realme 3 and Realme 5 series of phones. Their presence means that the October-2018 arrival is now further down the pecking order when it comes to receiving software updates.

The company started dishing out August security patches in mid-August. Interestingly, one of the first devices to receive the update was the entry-level Realme 2 alongside the Realme C1, but the Realme 2 Pro August update has had to wait until September to arrive.

Realme has also rolled out the August security update to the Realme X, Realme 3 Pro, Realme C2, and more recently, Realme 1 and Realme 5.

Concerned owners of the device took to Twitter to ask the company why the Realme 2 Pro August update hasn’t arrived yet the Realme 2 and Realme 1 already got the nod.

In response, Realme India support says the device is already receiving this in-demand security patch. The incoming Realme 2 Pro August update is reportedly available for download over the air but as a staged rollout.

OTA updates are usually staged so that in case anything goes wrong with the initial rollout, the damage can easily be minimized by halting the rollout. If anything, this should explain why the Realme 2 Pro August update hasn’t come your way just yet.

We haven’t received any cases of actual Realme 2 Pro users who have received the August update on their devices, but the company has revealed that the update will arrive carrying build number C.23.

At the moment, we don’t have anything else on the changelog other than the August security update, but once users start receiving the OTA, we should get to know more about what else the C.23 update brings to the Realme 2 Pro.

August security patches aside, the company also recently revealed that several Android 10-inspired features will be made available for all Realme phones, among them dark mode, the new gestures as well as others like the new ColorOS UI that debuted on the Realme 5 series.

We will keep tabs on when these features arrive on your Realme phone and update you, our esteemed readers, about it.

Update (September 17)

Realme 2 Pro users are now getting two updates in a row. The first one brings Wi-Fi security fixes, while the other one contains September security patches. For further details and download link, see here.
