Oppo Find X & Realme C2 August OTA updates are live

Oppo is no longer a force in the Chinese smartphone market alone. The company has managed to squeeze into the tight space in the Indian market and keeps growing thanks to the introduction of the Realme sub-brand a year ago.

Interestingly, recent stats show that Realme is, in fact, ahead of its parent company in the Indian smartphone market with a market share of 9% compared to the parent company’s 8% as of Q2 2019.

According to Realme boss Madhav Sheth, the company’s devices are priced neither cheaply nor affordably, instead, they choose “the right pricing” to match what consumers want. Looking at the current market stats, this strategy seems to be doing wonders for the Oppo-owned brand.

However, there’s more to Realme’s emergence as a force to reckon with in the smartphone market. Unlike the parent company Oppo, Realme has been quite impressive with software updates, doing just about everything to release these updates on time.

Today, software updates (and how regular they come) can make or break a smartphone company, especially one as young as Realme. But truth be told, Realme is doing such a great job keeping their devices up to date.

The company has already rolled out the latest August security patch to Realme 2 & Realme C1, Realme X, and Realme 3 Pro. As of this writing, this same update is now rolling out to the Realme C2 as an OTA.

The update, which weighs 195MB, is arriving over the air (OTA) as version RMX1945EX_11_B.15 and further fixes unnamed bugs and improves general system-wide performance of the Realme C2.

Also receiving a similar update that installs the latest August security patch is the premium Oppo Find X. The update has been spotted in Kenya, but this shouldn’t be the only region where the Find X sells as model CPH1871.

If you cant wait for the OTA update, we have the recovery file (below) that you can download and install manually via Recovery Mode, but be sure you know how this works.

  • Model No: CPH1871
  • Version: CPH1871EX_11_A.16
  • Size: 2871MB

Yea, the Oppo Find X update is still based on Android 8.1 Oreo, but the device is currently testing ColorOS 6 based on Android 9 Pie and hopefully, the stable version gets released in the coming days or weeks for that matter.
