[Updated] OPPO Find X ColorOS 6 (Android Pie 9.0) update trial version (soak test) goes live in India
This story is being continuously updated….new updates are being added at the bottom…..
Allow me to start the day with a little dose of trivia: do you know that the OnePlus One was actually modelled on top of OPPO Find 7? There were some little differences, such as battery capacity (3,000 mAh in Find 7 versus 3,100 mAh in OnePlus One), but the overall package was quite similar.
Traditionally, the Find series of phone are considered as the flagship offerings from OPPO. The Chinese OEM recently did a slight restructuring in their product portfolio, and the newly introduced Reno lineup occupied the high table.
Shift back to one year, and you could spot the Find series very much alive. In fact, OPPO Find X was one of the most premium looking flagship introduced that year.
Powered by the Snapdragon 845 SoC and sporting a 6.42 inches ‘Panoramic Arc’ display, Find X looked really stunning in hand.
OPPO Find X is the world’s first panoramic designed phone, embracing the beauty of nature into a leading technology product. OPPO Find X combines two seamless pieces of glass with the front screen featuring a gorgeous panoramic view.
OPPO completely ditched the notch in favor of a beautifully crafted motorized panel. Both the 16 MP and 20 MP rear camera duo as well as 25 MP selfie camera are placed inside that panel – a design language later ‘borrowed’ by Mi MIX 3/MIX 3 5G.
In terms of software, Find X was launched with OPPO’s proprietary ColorOS skin on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. Despite being one of the costliest Android flagships, especially in India, the phone has not received Android Pie update till date.
In last few days, OPPO started to bring pre-release/stable version of Pie based ColorOS 6 update to a bunch of phones. Looks like the Find X owners are having a good time, as the phone is now getting ‘trial version’ of ColorOS 6 in India.
Interested users need to apply directly via built-in Software Update app on their phone. You need to following the sequence as shown in the picture:
Only a handful of users will be selected for the initial round of soak test, so you may stumble on error messages about the quota being full. In that case, wait for a moment and retry.
