The next Samsung flagship, the Galaxy S11 (or Galaxy S20 according to rumors) is well on its way. According to rumors, we should see the device being unveiled sometime in the second week of February.

As the purported launch date is getting nearby, more and more leaks are continuing to trickle in. This time, Galaxy S11 has cleared yet another obstacle on its way to the market – it has just received Bluetooth certification.

This certification is related to the Plus variant with model number SM-G988B. It should the 5G capable version of S11+. The certification confirms that the phone will support Bluetooth 5.0. Little else is available about the said device from the listing.

Despite both the Snapdragon 865 and the Exynos 990 expected to power the S11-family of phones being 5G-ready, only the Galaxy S11+ will reportedly be sold as a 5G device in all markets. The others, (Galaxy S11e and Galaxy S11) could have region-specific LTE and 5G variants.

In the certification listing, the three devices; SM-G988B_DS, SM-G988B, and SM-G988BR_DS are listed under the name Samsung Mobile Phone. This could further fuel the speculations that Samsung is planning to deviate from its naming scheme with these devices.
