[Updated] Xiaomi MIUI 12 update bags German certification ahead of alleged internal testing on April 29; may release with Mi 10 Lite

This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..

Original story (published on April 20) follows:

Only those coming from a cave have probably heard nothing about the next huge software update from Xiaomi – the MIUI 12 update. Taking over from MIUI 11, the update to MIUI 12 is expected to harbor significant changes compared to what MIUI 11 brought over MIUI 10.

There are talks of massive changes to the UI, a perfect dark mode, revamped navigation bar and gestures, new camera UI, multi-tasking animations, and more.

We’ve also come across details alleging that MIUI 12 update will be available for public beta testing in September before the stable version arrives later in December 2020. A couple or so lists of devices said to be eligible for MIUI 12 are also doing rounds on the interwebs.

But it is the recent arrival of the MIUI 12 eligibility test app on the Google Play Store that all but confirmed the imminent release of MIUI 12. Matter of fact, this came shortly after another report suggested that the internal beta update will go live this month, but it gave no date.

The release date mystery is no more, at least if the latest developments are to be believed. Apparently, Xiaomi will unveil MIUI 12 on April 27 and two days later, on April 29, the recruitment of internal beta testers will begin.

While we have no way to ascertain the above claims, what’s turning out to be even more interesting is that Germany’s TÜV Rheinland company has also cleared a new MIUI version for release, all but confirming the imminent arrival of the software.

As per other reports, it is also alleged that Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite, which will be known in China as Mi 10 Youth Edition, will be unveiled alongside MIUI 12, but don’t expect the software to come preinstalled. This, of course, is subject to debate, but it won’t be long before we confirm all these claims.

So, #MIUI12 is about to obtain the German Rhine certification (TÜV Rheinland). It will be the world’s first … 😊
      P.S. #MIUI12 will be released together with #Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition (#Mi10Lite) 😉👍
