New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on February 20, 2020) follows:

Realme rolled out the first Realme X Realme UI beta update based on Android 10 in China more than a month ago. To date, though, the update hasn’t been released in India.

This has obviously been a cause of concern for Realme X owners in the Asian sub-continent, but PiunikaWeb readers should be aware of Realme India’s stance on the devices Realme UI beta update from our previous coverage.

The Realme 5 Pro is also facing the same fate as the Realme X in India, where the device will skip the beta testing phase and jump straight to stable Android 10. That’s okay, if you ask me, but even so, people still want to know when exactly this update will arrive.

For those on the Realme X, well, we have some good news for you. Sure, we already knew about the previously mentioned February release date of the OS, but now we have even more concrete proof that Realme X Android 10 update is imminent.

Realme UI update for Realme X was already expected this month

According to the official announcement post detailing the latest February security update for the Realme X in India, it’s likely that the next update this device receives will bring Android 10 OS.

Here is what Realme says about the incoming February security update:

This is not realme UI update. This update is required before realme UI update rolls out.

It’s a small note added at the bottom of the announcement post, but it’s quite significant. As per the note, the incoming update is here to prepare the way for the release of Realme UI update for the Realme X handset. Without it, getting updated to Android 10 will be a problem.

The update, which started rolling out yesterday, also enables VoWiFi (WiFi calling) feature for both Airtel and Reliance Jio. Follow the steps below to enable VoWiFi calling on your Realme X after installing the February update.

Step 1: Connect to a Wi-Fi network
Step 2: Go to the Settings app and select SIM Card & Mobile Data option and Tap on SIM 1 (Make sure you have Airtel/JIO SIM inserted)
Step 3: Then select the option Wi-Fi calling and turn it on. Under the Wi-Fi calling preferences, you should select Wi-Fi calling preferred option.
Step 4: In some time, you can see VoWiFi calling icon in the status bar.

That’s it! From now on, an incoming VoWiFi call will show an HD icon beside the call timer on the call UI.
