Although both OnePlus 3 and 3T got Android 9.0 Pie update in the form of OxygenOS 9.0.2 a few weeks ago, they are now considered as legacy products. OxygenOS is preparing the groundwork towards Android Q, and the 9.5 branch is the transitioning phase with a number of new features.

While OnePlus 3/3T won’t get these features, the Chinese OEM officially confirmed to bring them on OnePlus 5/5T and Oneplus 6/6T. As a matter of fact, 2018’s OnePlus 6/6T duo already got Zen Mode and Screen Recorder via Open Beta channel.

It’s a known fact that the stable channel is significantly lagged behind the Open Beta channel in terms of features and fixes. Both OnePlus 5 and 5T received their last stable update back in April, which also brought April 2019 security patches.

Their successor, the OnePlus 6/6T, recently got May security patch via stable channel OTA update. Following the footsteps, OnePlus has started to roll out OxygenOS 9.0.6 for OnePlus 5/5T with an updated security patch.

The size of the incremental OTA package is less than 200 MB, but OnePlus managed to deliver a couple of Bluetooth connectivity fixes with this update. Both OnePlus 5 & 5T should now be able to quick pair with the second gen Bullets Wireless, just like the OnePlus 6/6T.

Interestingly, the changelog does not mention anything about the infamous Speed Dial contacts auto-deletion bug. The company even acknowledged the anomaly and promised to fix it (in fact they did it with OnePlus 6/6T).

It could be possible that the copywriters simply forgot to mention the fix in the changelog, as we had a similar experience in past. The current build was compiled on May 27, which is rather old compared to the release date.

Only a handful of OnePlus 5 users have reportedly got the incremental update, thus we are unable to capture the full update ZIPs but we have captured them anyway. OnePlus’ Manu J. is silent as well – guess he will make the update announcement thread public after a wider rollout.

Nonetheless, the following section will be updated as soon as Oxygen Updater community members have their hands on the packages Download the full update packages from the following links:
