Discord recently released an update for its app that brings new features and improvements to the existing ones.

For instance, the patch introduces a new username format that makes it easier to remember and share other people’s IDs.

In addition to this, one can now also communicate with the help of voice messages on larger servers and cancel an upload without clearing the whole message and having to start over.

However, it looks like these changes have not been well received by some users.

Discord users unhappy with UI tweaks and other recent changes

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7), multiple Discord users are dissatisfied with the recent changes to the app’s UI (User Interface) and other features.

For instance, Discord’s decision to restrict permanent invites to community servers received backlash from users, as did its revised community guidelines.

In addition to this, the platform’s implementation of the new username system and the enforced usage of lowercase characters in the usernames were criticized.

Members were also unhappy with the ban on usernames that included the term ‘Nitro’ and the positioning of the newly introduced ‘Super Reactions’ button.

Furthermore, the newly added ‘Soundboard’ feature and tweaks made to the ‘@everyone’ permissions were also not liked by some.

Users even (1,2) assert that people moved away from Skype because it didn’t cater to their needs effectively. They also claim that the same is going to happen with Discord.
