No no, this time it’s not the LG G7+ ThinQ model G710EAW. Rather, it’s the standard LG G7 ThinQ model G710EMW that’s being hit by Pie in the India region. So breathe a sigh of relief!

Android 9.0 Pie is something that LG G7 users in India have been eagerly and impatiently eyeing on. Why so? Well, the update first landed on the OEM’s home country devices in the beginning of the year. Few months later, Verizon, Metro PCS, US Cellular, T-Mobile rolled out the same to LG G7.

The carrier locked and unlocked models in the UK and G7 devices in some regions of Europe were next. Then recently, after all that wait, the plus variant (G710EAW) of LG G7 ThinQ was finally bumped to Android 9.0 in India. The update first arrived on LG Brigde and is currently circulating OTA.

Pie update (sized 1.5GB) on LG G7 Plus carried build number PKQ1.181105.001 along with software version V20f-IND-XX. And instead of bringing along the latest security patch i.e. of August, the update carried the July security one.

While the roll out news was music to ears of LG G7 Plus users in the region, it got the ones with the standard LG G7 devices restless, for their units were yet to receive the Pie. But the wait is finally over. Android 9.0 is now live for the standard LG G7 (model G710EMW) on LG Bridge.

While some users say the update is get-at-able from LG Bridge, other LG G7 users are also receiving the same over-the-air. Similar to LG G7+, the firmware circulating on the standard LG G7 bears version number V20f, weighs about 1.5GB and brings the last month’s security patch, i.e. July.

Keep patience if you haven’t received the update yet. Considering firmware updates are usually pushed out in batches, Pie may take take time to land on all LG G7 devices. So hang in tight as the notification may show up anytime now. Happy installing?! Hope Pie patch is worth all that wait.
