Original story (published on July 30, 2020) follows:

The Poco F2 Pro, also known as Redmi K30 Pro back at home in China, started receiving the stable MIUI 12 update in various regions this month. The rollout started with Europe before finding its way to the global, Indonesian and Russian variants not long after.

Unfortunately, this update only brought changes to the in-house MIUI skin, leaving the base Android OS untouched. Since it comes pre-installed with Android 10, the Poco F2 Pro Android 11 update is a matter of when and not if.

Indeed, Xiaomi already confirmed Android 11 beta is coming to the device, but nothing yet.

Meanwhile, those using the Chinese variant of the device have already bagged their first Android 11 beta update. This arrived a little over a month ago and as of this writing, reports just coming in suggest the Redmi K30 Pro Android 11 beta 2 update is now rolling out.

The update is arriving as MIUI 12 beta 20.7.30, released today. It doesn’t bring major changes, but you can expect plenty of bug fixes and optimizations once installed.

Just MIUI12’s development version of the in-test announcement that Redmi K30Pro today can upgrade based on Android 11 Beta2 version of MIUI12 development version, want to be a warrior can be on, remind the previous version of the development version too many bugs #MIUI12.

Poco F2 Pro users can benefit from the fact that Xiaomi is already testing a firmware for their device in China. Usually, Xiaomi devices with Chinese variants tend to get updates back at home first before their global counterparts receive a more stable build.

If anything, F2 Pro owners should get the stable build once the K30 Pro gets it, but as noted earlier, Xiaomi has already promised to release a beta build of Android 11 to the F2 Pro at some point, so we wait.

As usual, we will keep tabs on the matter and let you know when Android 11 arrives on the Poco F2 Pro. For Redmi K30 Pro owners trying the current beta, now is the time to start hitting the software update button in your device settings.

The Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro have also received Android 11 beta updates, with more devices expected to receive the OS in future.

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem. Expect insightful articles and explorations of the ever-evolving world of Android and Google products coupled with occasional rants on the Nest smart home ecosystem.
