[Updated] Redmi K30 Pro/Poco F2 Pro Android 11 beta update released (Download link inside); Mi 10/Pro MIUI 12 beta suspended

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on June 22, 2020) follows:

Xiaomi has one of the most heavily customized Android skins, MIUI. But the Chinese smartphone vendor never ceases to amaze when it comes to delivering relatively timely software updates to its devices.

To date, for instance, at least 22 Xiaomi smartphones are running on the latest Android 10 OS by virtue of OTA updates. The company is also doing a pretty decent job with its in-house MIUI 12 updates, with a handful of devices having already received it.

That said, the company has already started testing the new Android 11 beta update on a handful of devices namely Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro. As a result of the process of migrating the beta testing team from Android 10 to Android 11, Xiaomi has suspended the MIUI 12 beta updates.

As part of the release notes for MIUI 12 beta 20.6.22, Xiaomi has revealed that the two will also be joined by Redmi K30 Pro as far as MIUI 12 beta updates are concerned. Yeah, you guessed right – the same reason applies.

In case you missed it, the Redmi K30 Pro, a device also known as Poco F2 Pro in markets outside China, is also missing out on upcoming MIUI 12 beta updates in order to be upgraded to Android 11 just like the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro.

Even better is that the updated Redmi K30 Pro Android 11 firmware is already up for grabs for those willing to test the waters. It was only fair that the device’s Android 11 firmware becomes available following the earlier promise that it will be released soon.

      • Device: Redmi K30 Pro
      • Codename: lmi
      • Channel: China Beta
      • Android: 11
        • Type: Fastboot
          • Download: Link

Although the Redmi K30 Pro has the same internals as the Poco F2 Pro, the latter’s actual Android 11 beta update is still expected to come sooner than later, so hang in there. Of course, you can install this version on your F2 Pro, but you’ll miss out on Google apps and services.

Xiaomi has now released the second Android 11 beta for the Redmi K30 Pro in China. It comes as version 20.7.30 and has MIUI 12 running on top. See the full story here.

      Update 2 (September 10)

IST 04:47 pm: Xiaomi has released the Android 11 beta update for the Global variants of the Mi 10 Pro. The update comes with MIUI 12 on top and is rolling out as version 12.1.2.0.RJAMIXM to users who are part of the beta program. Head here for more details.
