Initial reports indicated that the One UI 2.1 update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy S9 devices would be available and start rolling out to devices sometime in June this year.

The fact that we are seeing reports of this update being in testing is encouraging as it falls well within the timelines of the software development if indeed we should see the update roll out in June.

Thanks to the developer community, however, Samsung Note 9 users who are not that patient and would like to try out the One UI 2.1 skin on their devices before it is officially available, well, this build has been ported for the Note 9 and you can read more about that here.

It is also unclear just how many One UI 2.1 features will be brought over to the Galaxy S9 seeing as this device is considerably less powerful than the Samsung Galaxy S20 devices that One UI 2.1 debuted with.

As per a user shared information shared regarding the development of One UI 2.1 on S9 and Note 9, late June release is what you can expect. Here’s what they said:

They’re still actively working on it for the S9/Note9. Exynos S9 seems to be stabilizing. All Note9s seems to still be under active development. Still no build for Canadian S9s but the US one seems to be stabilizing. Release late this month seems like a possibility for S9s (except for Canada), not so much for the Note9, although it’s still a possibility. Take this news with a pinch of salt.
