New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on April 22, 2020) follows:

Samsung continues to roll out its skin, One UI 2.1 on top of Android 10 to more and more of its current flagships, the Samsung Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy Note 10.

We have seen the international versions of the Galaxy S10 and the Note 10 getting these, and more recently, carrier versions of the same devices, for instance, T-Mobile, has rolled out the One UI 2.1 update to the Galaxy S10e.

Even while this update rolls out to the Galaxy S10 and Note 10, older flagships’ eligibility has been a bone of contention for a while now. There has been a lot of back and forth as to whether the Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy S9 would get updated to One UI 2.1.

Initial reports indicated that the One UI 2.1 might not make its way to the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy Note 9. This would have been a devastating move seeing as to just how these devices are still fairly capable, even in 2020.

Later reports clarified the initial stand, stating that Samsung Developers were still checking features to include in the software. This, probably because the Galaxy S9 and the Note 9, despite being powerful devices, are still no match to the Galaxy S20 that came with One UI 2.1 pre-installed.

Fast-foward to present day and Samsung Germany has also confirmed One UI 2.1 for Galaxy S9 & Note 9.

The statement reads in part,

Community (It seems that keyboard input is bad while charging 9 series)

Eisik Superuser I Saturday The info is correct, also an insider told me yesterday.

Note9 and S9, as well as Note10 Lite, will get it shortly.

With this, it is pretty much confirmed that indeed, the Galaxy S9, the Galaxy Note 9, and the Galaxy Note 10 Lite will get updated to Samsung’s new One UI 2.1.

This puts to rest many months of agonizing suspense by Samsung Galaxy S9 and Note 9 users who, were uncertain of the fate of their devices. However, it is also pretty obvious at this point that while the devices will get One UI 2.1, not all the One UI 2.1 features will be available to the devices.

We shall keep an eye on this story and update as, and when we get more info. Stay tuned to our dedicated Samsung section for these and much more.

Hi? Galaxy Note SW is in charge. I have to share the status quo with various speculative comments so I don’t think there will be unnecessary feelings of customers. Note9 / S9 series OneUI2.1 support is being reviewed in Korea as well as the Americas / Europe and is under development.
