Honor View20 VoWiFi (WiFi calling) support enabled with April security update
The VoWiFi (WiFi calling) feature is quite popular nowadays and who doesn’t want the latest functionalities enabled on their units? Well, at least I do. Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has recently introduced this feature to several of its smartphones along with the monthly patches.
Some of the Honor devices that now support VoWiFi are : Honor 9 Lite, Honor 9N , Honor Play, Honor 20i , Honor 10 Lite, Honor 8X, Honor 10 Lite. Not to miss, Honor 20 and View 10 (or V10) are expected to get VoWiFi sometime during this month.
Due to the high user demand, Honor has been frequently adding the functionality, and this time it’s Honor View20 (aka V20 in China) which is getting the attention of the OEM to get VoWiFi (WiFi calling) with its latest OTA update.
This April security update that brings along VoWiFi for devices in India comes with the version number 10.0.0.199 and the size is 1.03GB. Here’s what the changelog reads:
This update enables VoWifi feature, and also includes Android patches for improved system security.
Enables the VoWifi feature for certain carriers.
Integrates Android security patches
Honor is responding so well by enabling this feature to its devices. Here’s hoping the left out VoWiFi capable Huawei and Honor devices also receive the supports soon. Rest assured, we’re keeping a close watch and will let you know as and when it lands on other devices.
