Original story (published on March 16, 2020) follows:

Counterpoint Research ranked the Samsung Galaxy A50 as one of the best-selling smartphones across the globe. This was according to stats taken up to Q3 2019, six months after the A50 arrived.

Sure, the phone has since been pushed aside by other newer models like the Galaxy A50s and Galaxy A51, the latter showing up late last year running One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 out of the box. As for the A50s, the One UI 2.0 update first arrived a month ago.

Samsung has also pushed the new OS to the Galaxy A70, Galaxy A70s, Galaxy A80, Galaxy A30, Galaxy A7 (2018), and Galaxy A8s. And now it’s time for the Galaxy A50 to pick up this very OS.

As of this writing, the updated Galaxy A50 Android 10 firmware is now available in Korea. The variant in question has model number SM-A505N.

Other variants of the A50 sold in various markets globally have model numbers SM-A505F, SM-A505FM, SM-A505FN, SM-A505G, SM-A505GN, SM-A505GT, SM-A505U, SM-A505U1, SM-A505W, and SM-A505YN.

Carrying firmware version A505NKSU3BTC3, the incoming Galaxy A50 Android 10 update also bumps the security patch level to the latest version available – March 2020.

FYI, we already knew about the imminent arrival of the One UI 2.0 update for the A50. A couple of days ago, a new OS build popped up online for testers of Android 10 on the device, suggesting the rollout wasn’t far away.

Now that the update is available for the Korean variant, the wait for the global rollout shouldn’t take ages. We will let you know when the Galaxy A50 Android 10 update hits your region’s variant.
