[Updated] Realme 2 & Realme C1 VoWiFi (WiFi calling) arrives with March patch, swipe gesture from both sides too (Download links inside)

This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..

Original story (published on March 17) follows:

Realme has managed to carve out quite a name for itself, especially in the Indian market. Providing decent specs in the price range that doesn’t burn a hole in your pockets, it is giving tough competition to other smartphone manufacturers in this segment.

Likewise, it also releases regular security updates for its devices. Recently the Realme 6 and its counterpart, the Realme 6 Pro received the latest security patches. Along the same lines, the Realme C1 and Realme 2 are now receiving their March security patches.

The incoming updates improve the devices’ security and also add support for WiFi Calling. Currently, the feature, popularly known as VoWiFi, is supported on Reliance Jio and Airtel carriers in India. The said Realme C1 VoWiFi update is arriving as version RMX1811EX_11_A.64.

As for the Realme 2, the same March patch that also enables VoWiFi calling is arriving as version RMX1805_11_A.64. Besides these mentioned additions, you also get the ability to go back to the previous page by swiping from both sides on either device.

Below is a summary of the changelog (same for both devices):

      Security
      ● Android security patch: March 2020

      System
      ● Fixed some known bugs, and improved system stability
      Settings
      ● Added swipe gestures from both sides
      Network
      ● Enabled VoWIFI and ViWIFI for Airtel and JIO operator (India)

In case you haven’t been following, Realme C1 and Realme 2 are not the first devices from the OPPO subsidiary to bring in the support for VoWiFi.

Realme 2 Pro has also just received the March security update, along with the support for WiFi Calling. Both these devices join the list of other Realme smartphones that already have already received the said feature. These include the Realme X, X2, X2 Pro, 5 Pro, 3 Pro & XT, as well as the Realme 5/5s/5i, 1 and U1.

Do keep in mind that OTA updates are rolled out in a staged manner. So be patient and keep an eye on your device’s notification area for the said update to arrive. On the other hand, Realme 2 owners can simply download the firmware below and install it manually rather than wait.

      • Device: Realme 2
      • Codename: RMX1805
      • Channel: Global (India) Stable
      • Version: A.64
      • Android: 9
        • Type: Recovery
          • Download: Link
          • MD5: 3F14573C65D9BA1353B90657A6223018

Realme seems to have uploaded the same firmware files for both Realme C1 and Realme 2, so we will watch out for the former’s firmware and update this post when it is available.
