New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on December 12, 2019) follows:

In terms of security updates, this month is really getting exciting. Samsung kickstarted the game, Google delayed the OTA for the Pixel 4 lineup, Realme joined the club out of the blue – even Motorola came up with stable Android 10 update for Moto One Power with the latest security patch.

What about OnePlus? Well, the Chinese OEM recently delivered the November patch (yes, you read that right!) to OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro via stable channel. The units in China grabbed it a few days earlier than the global variant.

Interestingly, the same November patch was rolled out as the day-one update for the T-Mobile exclusive OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Edition (heck of a name!). Although OnePlus is sticking with their bi-monthly security update policy, their reputation is being maligned with such practice.

OnePlus 7T: Their latest lineup is on October patch

The last update for OnePlus 7T/7T Pro came almost a month ago, and there is no official ETA regarding the next. However, the Chinese units have taken the pole position once again, as they are reportedly receiving a new update with plenty of improvements.

Tagged as HydrogenOS/H2OS 10.0.6 for OnePlus 7T and 10.0.4 for OnePlus 7T Pro respectively, the OTAs also bring November security patch to the device duo.

Call it a coincidence, but the last OxygenOS update for the phone duo carried the same (10.0.6 for OnePlus 7T and 10.0.4 for OnePlus 7T Pro) numbering scheme.

Nonetheless, the owners of the global units can start hammering the Check for updates button as the corresponding OxygenOS OTA should be in the pipeline.

Update 1 (December 13)

As expected, the OxygenOS November security update is now live. However, the release is limited to OnePlus 7T and there is a strange version number dilemma. Details here.

Update 2 (December 16)

OnePlus says the incoming OnePlus 7T Pro November security patch is OxygenOS 10.0.5, but some units are receiving it as OxygenOS 10.3.0. Take a look at this article for further info.
