Very few non-Google OEMs can keep a solid track record of delivering periodic security updates. Other than Essential and Nokia, Realme is part of that elite club, although their ColorOS skin is quite heavy compared to vanilla Android.

The Chinese OEM is currently pushing out the December patch to the Realme 1. The old timer was launched back in May of 2018 and is powered by the MT6771 Helio P60 chipset. A solid device with ample storage and RAM that made the foundation to today’s Realme.

Following the usual pattern, Realme U1 is also getting a similar update. The Helio P70-powered phone was launched in December 2018 with Android 8.1. After a brief beta testing phase, Android Pie landed on Realme U1 around six months ago.

Both Realme 1 & U1 got Digital Wellbeing and system-wide dark mode support alongside October patch with their previous update. Sadly, none of these devices will get Android 10-based ColorOS 7. The same fate also goes for Realme C1 and Realme 2.
