New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

In an official post published in the company’s forums, Oppo has confirmed that the much-anticipated ColorOS 7 update will be launched on November 20.

The company has also made a similar statement on the biggest social networking platform in China, Weibo, confirming that a November 20 conference will be used to bring forth the new skin.

In case you are wondering why the excitement regarding the arrival of ColorOS 7, well, this is the skin that tags along the latest Android 10 OS. Granted, select Oppo devices, probably the Reno series, will begin receiving the OS on this day.

A few weeks ago, Oppo revealed that the Android 10-based ColorOS 7 update will be pushed to the Reno line of phones in the near future, but at the time, no specific date was mentioned. Now that we have a date, we wait and see which other devices will join the party.

Besides Oppo phones, Realme devices will also receive the ColorOS 7 update based on Android 10. At some point, it had been rumored that the Oppo subsidiary was working on a certain RealmeOS skin for its phones, but this was dismissed a couple of weeks ago.

Soon after, the company’s Chinese arm announced its ColorOS 7 roadmap, all but confirming RealmeOS doesn’t exist, at least for now. To set it apart, Realme says its version of ColorOS 7 will be near stock, meaning the company will need some time to make this happen, especially since it also intends to include a series of in-house features as well.

As per the official roadmap, this Android 10-based update isn’t expected on Realme phones until Q1 2020. But of course, we could see a beta version arriving a little earlier, probably before this year ends.

Whichever way, Realme users seem destined for a longer wait before they can get a taste of ColorOS 7 on their devices. Just how long is what remains to be seen.

Update (November 6)

ColorOS 7 (Android 10) update is scheduled to arrive in this month. Ahead of this, Realme has opened registrations into a beta program. Details here.
