While we already knew about the release of One UI 2.0 beta update in Europe and the U.S., Samsung has pointed out that the availability of the Android 10-based software will vary by country.

Granted, not every other country where the Galaxy S10, S10e, and Galaxy S10+ are sold will be eligible for the update to Android 10. It isn’t unusual, BTW, because even with Android Pie beta, the program was limited to select countries.

Besides the U.S. and select European countries, the Galaxy S10 One UI 2.0 beta update is also expected to come to India at some point, if at all the previous Android Pie beta program is anything to go by. But until then, you can already grab the ROM and install it manually on your S10, S10e, or S10+ unit.

The One UI 2.0 update has already been pushed to some units in Europe, but the software version isn’t the same all through. For instance, in Germany, you get versions G970FXXU3ZSJ8, G973FXXU3ZSJ8, and G975FXXU3ZSJ8 for the S10e, S10, and S10+ respectively.

As you can see from the screengrab below, some Galaxy S10/S10e/S10+ owners are receiving the new Android 10 beta update with build number ZSJ6, but the underlying changelog is the same.

XDA Developers senior member henklbr has published an interesting thread on the forum with the full packages that you need to get going with Android 10 update on your Galaxy S10, S10e or S10+.

These are beta builds pulled off the German models (DBT) of the Galaxy S10, S10e, and S10+ running One UI 2.0 based on Android 10.

Here, the region code is DBT, but since Germans use the same device model numbers as the rest of the world that uses the Exynos variants, it is possible to install the new Android 10 beta on any Exynos variant of the S10 series.

The developer notes that your phone must be running the latest build ASII in order to qualify for the Galaxy S10 One UI 2.0 update, but be warned that since this is a beta version, there’s no guarantee that it is bug-free.

It’s worth noting that even though the Galaxy S10 One UI 2.0 update can now be installed on any Exynos variant, it must be a multi-CSC OXM unit. To verify this, key *#1234# in the dialer and check if OXM is in the CSC-build.

If interested in trying Android 10 beta on your Exynos Galaxy S10, S10e, or S10+ handset, head over to this XDA Developers thread for the full set of instructions on how to install the ROM alongside the download links and any other assistance you may require along the way.

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem. Expect insightful articles and explorations of the ever-evolving world of Android and Google products coupled with occasional rants on the Nest smart home ecosystem.
