New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on September 26, 2019) follows:

Earlier this year, OnePlus organized a unique community competition called ‘Product Manager Challenge’. They wanted to crowdsource the next level redesign of OxygenOS – an idea which attracted a lot of spotlights. After a head-to-head contest, they picked up the winner but the decision was not free from controversies.

Nonetheless, the Chinese OEM already incorporated a handful of the design changes in their current OxygenOS skin. Of course the big jump happened with OxygenOS 10.0, the Android 10 based stable update, which is currently available on OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro.

The upcoming OnePlus 7T lineup will feature the new flavor of Android out of the box (which is certainly expected). On the other hand, the company also rolled out special preparatory builds for OnePlus 6/6T to make the future transition as smooth as possible.

Allow me to remember our readers, OnePlus also promised to deliver stable Android 10 update for OnePlus 5/5T in the near future. David Y., global Community Manager of the OEM, teased the same last week, but they did not mention a specific (or even tentative timeline).

Keep calm and wait for OxygenOS update!

Thanks to the Chinese counterpart of the company, we now have a roadmap (albeit kinda vague) of the Android 10 OTA distribution plan for OnePlus phones. Unlike the global units, the OnePlus 7 series will get the stable update of HydrogenOS 10.0 in November.

They already started the Open Beta program though, and OnePlus 6/6T will join the same during late October. This is again delayed compared to the international variants, as they are supposed to receive them by the end of this month.

OnePlus 5/5T owners, on the other hand, may need to wait till Q2 of 2020 to get the stable version of Android 10. Judging from the current pattern, the global units might get the update (in the form of OxygenOS 10.0) a month before.
