New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

PiunikaWeb readers should remember our article about the bizarre software update delays observed by OnePlus 7 Pro 5G owners. In fact, the company rolled out an incremental OTA a few days later, but the security patch level did not change from June. Even there was an official statement in this regard.

FYI, OnePlus 7 Pro created a new record by receiving August 2019 patch before the Google Pixel lineup. Besides other OnePlus phones, the Shenzhen based OEM also delivered the patch to three years old OnePlus 3/3T to mitigate the QualPwn vulnerability.

Compared to those, there was OxygenOS 9.5.7 update for the 5G variant which brought nothing but some network switching fixes. Was the Sprint deal responsible for the delay? Probably yes, as you can now buy the same old OnePlus 7 Pro 5G via Sprint as well (guess the new codename is reserved for something else).

Is Sprint playing the game like T-Mobile and opts for a separate update channel? We don’t know at this moment

What we do know is OnePlus is finally bringing the August patchset to European OnePlus 7 Pro units in the form of OxygenOS 9.5.10. Not only the version number jump is pretty huge, but the build compilation date is also an interesting factor.

The build was compiled on August 23, less than a week ago

OnePlus fans are hoping for Android 10 based Open Beta builds, while rumors say the OEM might deliver stable OxygenOS 10 update on the same day as Google. Judging from the past history, the 5G variant will probably get it a few days later than the other two phones in the OnePlus 7 family.

Back to the current OTA talk, the update is available to a handful of users at the time of writing this article. Once we capture the full package, we will update this story and include the download link. The changelog is quite large, which can be seen below.
