Vivo has been quite busy over the recent past. In May, for instance, the Chinese smartphone vendor started rolling out Android 9 Pie update to the Vivo V11 Pro and a few weeks later, it was the turn of the Vivo iQOO to join the DC Dimming family.

The Vivo Z3 then grabbed the headlines when it joined the growing list of Vivo smartphones receiving Android 9 Pie updates in late July before Vivo India confirmed the same update was, in fact, already available for the Vivo V9 and Vivo V9 Youth in the country.

More recently, Vivo has also grabbed headlines with teasers of the upcoming Vivo NEX 3 5G, the first smartphone with a waterfall screen featuring a screen-to-body ratio of over 100%. The phone is expected to arrive this September 2019, at least in China.

We’ve heard reports that Samsung Display is at the heart of this waterfall screen, although no confirmation has come from the Korean company regarding the same.

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem. Expect insightful articles and explorations of the ever-evolving world of Android and Google products coupled with occasional rants on the Nest smart home ecosystem.
