Xiaomi’s MIUI 12 skin was first announced in the compay’s home country — China. Since then, Xiaomi has been pushing the new skin to numerous smartphones from its massive portfolio.

The Redmi Note 9 is one of those devices that are eligible for the MIUI 12 update. FYI, the Redmi Note 9 is sold as the Redmi 10X 4G in China. Speaking of which, it has already bagged the MIUI 12 update in the country.

But, users of the Global variant, i.e., the Redmi Note 9 have still been waiting for the stable build to roll out. Well, that wait has now come to an end since Xiaomi has officially announced the release of the MIUI 12 Global Beta Stable for the Redmi Note 9.

This new update is based on Android 10 itself, however, MIUI 12 brings a boatload of new features and improvements. The update comes as version v12.0.2.0.QJOMIXM and it has begun rolling out to a limited number of users at the moment.

Like we mentioned above, the update has begun rolling out to a limited number of users. Xiaomi does this to ensure that an update does not carry any major bugs that may potentially affect users on a wide scale. Thus, it releases stable updates to a limited number of users for testing first.

Just make sure to create a backup of all the important files on your phone to avoid loss of data. Update 1 (July 30)

According to a Mi Community moderator, Redmi Note 9 users in Pakistan are not able to download the new MIUI 12 update on their devices since ISPs in the country are blocking Xiaomi servers. Head here to know the full story and see the temporary workaround.

Update 2 (August 13)

Xiaomi has re-released the stable MIUI 12 update for the Global Redmi Note 9 units. This new update comes with the software version 12.0.3.0.QJOMIXM and has begun rolling out via OTA. Check out more details along with the download link here.
