A while back Xiaomi introduced its latest Redmi Note 9 series to the global market. The Redmi Note 9S and Redmi Note 9 Pro have more similarities with the Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro while the standard Redmi Note 9 is something else.

Not long after, the global Redmi Note 9 was unveiled in China as the Redmi 10X 4G, leaving nothing out, be it the overall design that includes the squarish quad-lens camera on the back and the punch-hole display, the Helio G85 chipset, and so on.

Now, as of this writing, the Chinese variant of the Redmi Note 9 is now receiving the stable MIUI 12 update. Locally known as the Redmi 10X 4G, the device’s huge software bump is arriving as version V12.0.1.0.QJOCNXM, up from version V11.0.6.0.QJOCNXM.

The OTA update should arrive weighing in at about 567MB, so be sure to connect to a stable WiFi network, at least if you own the 10X 4G. This piece of information is most important for owners of the Redmi Note 9 across the globe as it suggests the update to MIUI 12 is just around the corner.

Usually, the wait for global units to receive MIUI updates after their Chinese counterparts pick up the same update is usually a week or two. Granted, the MIUI 12 update may begin rolling out in limited capacity to the global Redmi Note 9 units at some point next week. This is just speculation, though.
