Original story (published on October 14, 2020) follows:

Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro (global) came out in May with Android 10-based MIUI 11 out-of-the-box while the wait was on for MIUI 12.

Also, the Redmi Note 9 Pro is in line to get the latest OS update i.e. Android 11 which, as per recent reports, might come out in Q1 2021.

The global Redmi Note 9 Pro has variants running on the global, Europe, Indonesia, Russia, and Turkey ROMs leaving the India ROM, but there is a catch.

The Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro variant had already received the MIUI 12 update back in September but the device is globally known as the Redmi Note 9S.

However, users of the global Redmi Note 9 Pro variants have been waiting for the MIUI 12 update and it seems that the wait has finally come to an end.
