New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on October 08, 2020) follows:
While the Redmi Note 9 Pro has received the MIUI 12 update, it is meant for the Indian variant which is not at all similar to the global Redmi Note 9 Pro.
However, those on the Redmi Note 9S can install the update meant for the Indian Redmi Note 9 Pro by following this guide as both devices are virtually identical.
Similarly, the Redmi 9 received the latest custom skin in China as beta stable version 184.108.40.206.QJCCNXM way back in July.
The update was re-released after a month with the same version number but it was still meant for Xiaomi’s beta testing program members in China.
Now, it seems that the wait for the global variants of the aforementioned devices is about to get over as MIUI 12 is arriving soon.
The Redmi Note 9S, Redmi Note 9 Pro (global), and Redmi 9 MIUI 12 update is scheduled to roll out from October 20.
This information comes from a conversation between a user and a Xiaomi UK support representative who has confirmed the MIUI 12 release date for the devices in question.
This is good news for those on the global variants of the Redmi Note 9S, Redmi Note 9 Pro, and Redmi 9 as the wait is finally coming to an end.
While Xiaomi has not made any announcements on the matter yet, the information from the support executive seems credible enough.
Hopefully, the OEM proceeds with the schedule without any hiccups since the MIUI 12 update for these devices has been pending for quite some time now.
That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide updates when new information becomes available.
In the meantime, you can check out our MIUI 12 update tracker to get the latest updates on the topic.
