The Mi A3 has been one of the most popular offerings from Xiaomi to date particularly in India where the demand for stock Android is pretty high. Or at least used to be.

This is because bad stock Android implementation from various OEMs like Asus with their ZenFone Max Pro M1, and of course, Xiaomi with the Mi A3 has seemingly warded users off it.

Many had turned to Android One simply because of the promise of quicker updates and a no-frills bugless experience. However, as it stands, these are the very aspects in which devices like the Mi A3 lag behind.

As a result, the scales have recently been tipped in favor of custom Android skins like MIUI, Realme UI, One UI, and many others. Has the era of Android One truly come to an end when it comes to brands like Xiaomi? Read on here.

Anyway, we are all now pretty familiar with how the Android 11 update with the Mi A3 is turning out to be. The update is filled with annoying little issues that have been bothering users for quite a while now.

Therefore, users have been waiting on security updates, like the recently released March update, to address some of the existing bugs. Quite unfortunately though, almost every monthly update following the initial Android 11 update has been a bag of disappointment.

The Mi A3 software experience continues to be a bug-filled one, so much so that we have even dedicated an entire section to it. Reports of lags, excessive battery drain, slow charging, and UI glitches are still in circulation.

I use the Mi A3 and the updates mostly were on time (installed the March 2021 security patch yesterday) but the worst part is that with every major update, it slows down and/ or brings new bugs the phone which spoils the experience of using the stock Android one UI…

Heck, as if the existing stuff [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17] wasn’t enough, some users have now also complained of fingerprint and proximity sensor issues, random reboots, and even worse performance following the March security update.

It could be quite possible that the aforementioned issues were pre-existing but have become more pronounced with the Mi A3 March update. Or it could be just that they’ve only come under notice now.

Alternatively, the March update may even be similar to the January security patch, which although did not mention much on its changelog, was a pretty major update with several bug fixes and a couple of new features.

With all these conflicting conclusions, we would like to know about the true nature of the update through your valuable opinions. This is being conducted in the form of a poll.

04:18 pm (IST): As it stands, only 14.3% of users feel that the update has fixed some of the bugs plaguing Android 11. But a vast majority (51.4%) feels that there hasn’t been any difference whatsoever, while some (34.3%) even found new bugs.
