Back in March, OPPO promised their customers to deliver the ColorOS 6 update (based on Android Pie) for a bunch of phones in their product portfolio. Truly speaking, the company did not try to differentiate between flagships and low/mid tier phones – everyone received equal weightage.
PiunikaWeb readers should remember that the Chinese OEM already started soak testing the Pie update on OPPO Find X, i.e. their top end phone from 2018. In fact, Android 10 is under public beta testing for OPPO Reno lineup. They even hinted about the ‘ColorOS 7’ naming scheme.
Nevertheless, they still need to provide the Pie update for truckload of phones. Blame OPPO’s shotgun marketing strategy for the long list, but the OEM is making a gradual progress. A tentative update roadmap was shared by the company last month for enlightening the user base.
The trial aka early soak testing recently began for the OPPO R11s family. Following the trend, their nearest cousin – OPPO R11 and OPPO R11 Plus – are now eligible for ColorOS 6 update via limited trial.
Both these phones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC (exactly similar to OPPO R11s lineup).The camera department consists of a dual (16+20 MP) rear camera setup accompanied by a 20 MP selfie shooter. Everything is fueled by 3,000 (4,000 for the Plus variant) mAh battery.
Interested R11/R11 Plus owners have to install the latest ColorOS 5.2 build (R11_11_A.49_0490_1907241224) before applying for the soak test. OPPO is going to allow nearly 1,000 entries in the first lot, so you have to hurry a bit. The enrollment procedure is as follows:
