Motorola started rolling out Android 11 for its phones a couple of months ago beginning with the Motorola G Pro which’s also known as the G Stylus.
It then rolled out the update to the Moto G8 and G8 Power and most recently brought Android 11 to the Motorola Edge/Edge+ and the Razr 5G.
While it’s good to see Motorola rolling out the new Android version to smartphones from its portfolio, you also need to keep in mind that the update isn’t yet available for these devices in most regions.
Motorola often takes months to release software updates to units across the globe as we’ve seen in the past such as with the Motorola One Macro.
That said, the company has now started rolling out the Android 11 update to Motorola Edge+ users in Canada as well.
This does not come as a surprise since major mobile carriers in the country had already revealed that the device will bag the new Android version on March 23 and Motorola followed through with its plans.
The update is rolling out with the software version number RPB31.Q1-19-19-14 for the XT2061-3-SS model that’s sold in Canada.
This information was shared via the Moto Updates Tracker group on Telegram which is an automated channel that tracks all Motorola updates.
We haven’t yet got our hands on confirmed reports from users claiming to have received Android 11 on the Motorola Edge+ in Canada.
The detailed changelog for the Android 11 update on the device also remains unavailable. However, you can expect to see most new features that were introduced with Android 11.
Unfortunately, this update takes away the manual Edge display on/off setting for apps that have been updated to support Android 11. Read more on that here.
