[Update: Mar. 13] Waiting for Motorola One Macro Android 10 update? Here's the status so far
This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (published on June 2) follows:
As the development of Android 11 continues to pick up the pace, users with devices that are eligible for an update to Android 10 like Motorola One Macro, but that haven’t received the much-awaited update are beginning to get on edge.
Motorola for one has a handful of its devices that are eligible for the upgrade to Android 10 but users still haven’t gotten word of when exactly their devices will get updated. One such device is the Motorola One Macro.
Launched back in October 2019, the Motorola One Macro features a 6.2″ IPS LCD display, a Mediatek MT6771 Helio P70 chipset, a rather reasonable 4000 mAh battery and storage starts from 64 GB.
The device launched running Android 9 Pie and while it has been updated a couple of times since, it still runs on the same version of Android it launched with. In terms of its update to Android 10, the device was expected to get the update back in February, but that did not materialize.
When asked about the fate of Android 10 for the Motorola One Macro, a Motorola Forum Admin had this to say,
“I know you’re anxious to get Android 10/Q on your Motorola one macro. We haven’t forgotten about you and the macro is expected to receive Android 10, pending partner approval, if that’s required. That being said, I know your next question (When?), the answer to that is we never share timing information. So, yes it will get Android 10, but I don’t have timing on when the phone will get it.”
Not exactly the feedback that the users were hoping for but it is a lot better than utter silence from the company, isn’t it? That said, Motorola is mentioning ‘pending partner approval’ in its response and we have heard similar statements from the same company.
Motorola’s other devices that haven’t received an update to Android 10 have been quoted as pending partner approval. These devices include the Motorola One Zoom, and the Moto G8 Plus.
Motorola has also managed to roll out Android 10 to a few other Motorola One devices. These include the
