[Update: India too] Motorola One Macro Android 10 stable update wider rollout begins

Motorola has taken over a year to release Android 10 for the Motorola One Macro which came with Android 9 Pie pre-installed.

Keep in mind, the Motorola One Macro was launched in October 2019 and Google had already released Android 10 to the public.

In November last year, we got our hands on some information that indicated Motorola started testing the new Android version (not new anymore) for the device in India.

Then in December, we reported that Android 10 has been released to a limited number of users as part of the soak testing phase in the country.

Since then, there have been a couple of reports stating that Motorola has started rolling out Android 10 for the Motorola One Macro, however, there was little to no concrete evidence.

But that has now changed since Motorola One Macro users from Brazil have started sharing screenshots of the stable Android 10 update finally hitting their devices.

Dozens of user reports on Reddit and Twitter confirm that the stable update has finally been released for the device. We’ve shared a screenshot of the update page below.

The update is rolling out as version QMD30.47-19 and also brings along the December security patch for the device.

Given the number of user reports surfacing online, it would be safe to assume that this isn’t a mere soak test.

The Motorola Brazil team on Twitter also responded to a user’s tweet by asking the individual to share his views on the update.

Now that the update has begun rolling out on a wider scale in Brazil, it’s more than likely we’ll see the stable update go live on a wider scale in India as well.

That said, Android 10 will be the last major OS update for the Motorola One Macro since it won’t be getting Android 11. Although, there are chances that the device might get Android 11 via custom ROMs.
