After HTC U11 & U11+, the counted on Android Pie 9.0 is finally hitting HTC U12+ devices. Tada!

It was back in March, when HTC broke their silence on Android Pie confirming its advent on HTC U11, U11+ & U12+ sometime in the Q2. Then in May, the OEM shared the schedule for all three units confirming Pie’s arrival on U11 devices in late May, followed by U12+ in mid-June & U11+ near June end.

As promised, Pie was pushed to HTC U11 back in May, but the patch landed on a rough note and had to be pulled for the bugs that plagued it. About a month later, the OEM released a new build. And lately, the roll out of Pie is being target to U11 units in regions other than HTC’s home country.

Unlike what the company said, U11’s kin HTC U11+ got to experience Pie before HTC U12+ (which was expected to get upgraded some time in mid-June). Android 9.0 recently made way to HTC U11+ devices in India as well as Europe. However, HTC U12+ users were left gawking.

But incoming is a good news. The wait is finally over for HTC U12+ users as Pie has started to hit the devices. HTC U12+, as you may know is the company’s 2018 high end phone fueled by Snapdragon 845 processor. Shipped originally with Android 8.0 Oreo, the phone awaited Pie until now.

Going by a report coming from a HTC U12+ user in Germany (via Twitter), Android Pie is now live. The update weights about a GB and bears build number 2.55.401.1. As for the changelog, it’s similar to the one HTC U11 & U11+. Meaning, system enhancements and removal of Google+ from BlinkFeed.

This update contains important, improvements:
– Android 9.0 Pie update.
– System enhancements.
– Remove Google+ from Blinkfeed because Google has shutdown Google+.

Considering Pie is rolling out to HTC U12+ units in Germany (for the time being), a wider rollout should begin sometime soon. It goes without saying, as firmware are often released in phases, Pie may take time to make it to all HTC U12+ devices. So hang in tight, as you may get the notification anytime.

Happy installation! Feel free to share with us your experience by dropping a comment below.
