Samsung has been doing rather well in terms of pushing out updates to its devices. Their first batch of devices are slated to get Android 10-based One UI 2.0 sometime early next year, even though Galaxy S10 has already received the stable update.
Apart from the Android 10 bandwagon, Samsung is also performing quite good in pushing out the monthly security patch updates. These often include feature updates and bug fixes.
Even though it is early December and the Korean OEM is busy delivering the equivalent security patch to some devices, mid-ranger Galaxy M series is not part of that elite club yet
Galaxy M20
The Exynos 7904 powered Galaxy M20 is receiving a new software update.
The update bumps up the Android security patch level to November 1 and can be identified by its software version number BSK2. It weighs in at a rather reasonable 100 MB.

The security of your device has been improved.
This is quite a big jump, as the phone was stuck with August patch for a long time. Samsung engineers also included an updated bootloader (v3), so downgrading is not possible after installing the newest build.
Galaxy M30s
Also getting updated is the Galaxy M30s. Well, not one but two consecutive updates. However, the phone still stands at the August security patch level.
These two updates while weighing different sizes, both carry the ASJ2/ASJ1 software version number and spot similar changelogs. Interestingly, the bundled security patch is August in both cases.
It is still unclear why this is, but as long as both updates lead to the same latest build number, it’s all good.
According to Samsung’s official tracker, build ASJ2 is the latest version available for the M30s. If the update has not reached your device yet, you might want to go to Settings>> About Phone >> Software update and manually check for the update.
