I just watched a Google Pixel 9 concept video that offers an interesting look at potential design directions. The video titled “Meet Google Pixel 9 – First Look” by Technizo Concept shows the upcoming Pixel 9 in four different colors: black, pink, yellow, and green.

Interestingly, there was a concept of a Pixel 9 Pro in yellow too. While I’d say take this next bit with a pinch of salt, given the fact that Apple launched a yellow iPhone 15 and Samsung has a yellow Galaxy S24 on offer, maybe Google might join in the fun too.

While we already know Google is revamping the camera housing, I’m still undecided on whether I like the change or not. It’s a noticeable change from the Pixel 8’s design, with more defined edges. This gives the phone a more “iPhone-ish” appearance. In fact, several of the comments under the video suggest the same.

Rumors suggest the Pixel 9 might be slightly wider and taller than its predecessor, along with rounder corners. If those prove accurate, it could result in a device that feels good in the hand compared to some of the more angular designs on the market.

Of course, it’s too early to know exactly what Google will deliver with the Pixel 9 when it launches this fall. Still, this concept video provides some food for thought. I’m interested to see if Google incorporates any of these color ideas, and to find out what other features they may include with the Pixel 9 series, and potentially the Pixel Fold 2 and Pixel Watch 3.

That said, here’s the Pixel 9 concept video for you to watch:
