The Google Pixel Watch was a strong debut effort for the company. However, some users found the single 41mm size a bit limiting. Now, according to reports from 9to5Google, the Pixel Watch 3 is set to address exactly that with a new 45mm variant. Additionally, new and improved Pixel Buds Pro 2 earbuds are also in the works.
Pixel Watch 3: Addressing user feedback
Keep in mind, we did expect the Pixel Watch 3 to come in two sizes, however, the exact size was not known at the time. The new 45mm model will bring it in line with popular competitors like the Apple Watch Series 9 (also available in 45mm) and give users who prefer larger displays a satisfying option. It’s likely Google will also keep the smaller 41mm size around, catering to those who want a more compact wearable.
Beyond size, rumors also point to the Pixel Watch 3 running Wear OS 5 based on Android 14. Google has already showcased hybrid interface improvements in Wear OS which promise significantly longer battery life – an exciting possibility for the next-gen Pixel Watch.
Pixel Buds Pro 2 in development
With the original Pixel Buds Pro offering solid active noise cancellation (ANC) and a slew of helpful features, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 promise to be a compelling upgrade. While details are scarce, it’s reasonable to expect further improvements to ANC and the potential for new AI-driven audio features enabled by more powerful hardware.
These reported launches show Google’s commitment to the wearables space. The Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds series are becoming strong contenders in a competitive market, and the addition of size options and upgraded features suggests Google is dedicated to user-focused improvements.
