Google has been actively introducing the presence of its Google Pixel devices in the sports field. The company has made ads in collaboration with the English Premier League, the NBA, and even F1, among others. Now, they are targeting tennis fans by making the Google Pixel 8 Pro the official smartphone and camera of the Australian Open 2024.

As in other similar partnerships, the company wants to especially highlight the photography and content creation capabilities offered by its latest and most powerful mobile flagship. To this end, the Australian Open 2024 social media team will use the Pixel 8 Pro to capture iconic on-field moments, up-close looks at players or new angles during matches.

This time, instead of promoting the several AI-powered features integrated into the device, Google wants to give visibility to its image enhancement technologies and long-range zoom capabilities. Julia Davis, marketing director at Google Australia, says that technologies such as Super Res Zoom, Night Sight, and Audio Magic Eraser will take center stage when creating content.

Also, Google will present Rinky Hijikata, a young and promising tennis figure on the rise, as a new brand ambassador at the Australian Open 2024. This means that the tennis player will create exclusive content using the Pixel 8 Pro, including capturing personal and behind-the-scenes moments that will give fans a glimpse of what the athlete’s day-to-day life is like.

Finally, the company also took advantage of the agreement to promote Call Screen, a Pixel device exclusive feature outside the photographic field:
