This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (published on June 10, 2020) follows:
There is not much clarity regarding a few of the Xiaomi phones like Redmi Note 8 especially the Android 10 update.
The device underwent Android 10 beta testing back in March 2020 and since then there have been mixed responses related to Android 10 update for the phone.
Then came in a report stating that the MIUI 12 update will be coupled with the Android 10 update, but there was no ETA provided for the same.
At least, we know that the MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 8 will be pushed somewhere in Phase 2. However, the commencement of Phase 2 of the MIUI 12 update depends on how the Phase 1 pan out.
Cut to now, a new MIUI 11 global beta stable update with version number V188.8.131.52.PCOMIXM has been released for the Redmi Note 8 which although weighs in around 422 MB, just bumps the security patch level.

The developers are releasing that soon.
So, after going through all the comments and information available as of yet, for the Redmi Note 8, the Android 10 update should soon make its way to your devices.
