Xiaomi’s Mi A series has had a lot of troubles when it comes to software updates which might be why the OEM did not come up with the Mi A4.

The Mi A3 remains the latest entry in Xiaomi’s Android One series which is also in line to get the Android 11 update.

While the Mi A3 saw a major update blunder back in July, it seems that the OEM has not learnt anything from that fiasco.

Now, the Mi A3 is getting the October and September security updates at the same time but the updates are rolling out to different variants respectively.

Those on the European Mi A3 units are getting the September security update while the global variant is receiving the October patch.

It is unclear why Xiaomi is rolling out two different security patches to both variants as no official announcements have been made by the OEM on the matter.

Nevertheless, both updates are live over the air and users of the Mi A3 can grab them as per their respective region.

Also, those who want to install the security updates manually can use the download links given below.

Global Variant

Changelog:

– Optimization: Reduced system lag

  • Device: Xiaomi Mi A3
  • Codename: laurel_sprout
  • Channel: Global Stable

European Variant

Changelog:

[System]

– Increased system security.

  • Device: Xiaomi Mi A3
  • Codename: laurel_sprout

It must be noted that Xiaomi rolled out several botched Android 10 updates for the Mi A3 which pushed users to ask for a refund.

And now, this new episode clearly shows that the OEM does not pay much attention to its Android One series of devices.

With such software update episodes, one can only imagine how Xiaomi might go ahead with the Android 11 update for the device in question.
