OnePlus recently revealed that OxygenOS 11 developer preview will get its final update on August 10. The company also revealed that the Chinese equivalent of the firmware dubbed HydrogenOS 11 will get another update today.

Indeed, the Chinese vendor is now rolling out the third and final developer preview version of Android 11 to the Chinese editions of OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. While unveiling the new HydrogenOS 11 build, the company also shed light on the finer details about the Open Beta and stable release dates.

According to information put together by TechDroider on Twitter, the first OnePlus Android 11 Open Beta update will be released on September 8. This will be for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.

The duo will also be the first to bag the stable version somewhere in mid-October followed by OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7T, and OnePlus 6/6T series beginning mid-December.

In a short video, the tipster has also shared some of the features that OnePlus is lining up for the upcoming HydrogenOS 11 update. Of course, these features, more so the likes of new Animations and Always On Display, are also expected to be part of OxygenOS 11 update.

Apparently, OnePlus devices on Android 11 will allow users to convert and use wallpapers as AoD. Sounds super cool if you ask me, but it could have some negative impacts on battery life. Hopefully, OnePlus will find a way to strike the balance without any negative impacts.

It’s worth noting that these details are related to the Chinese market and not the global market. But of course, the availability of the OS in China determines how soon the global market will get the nod.

Update 4 (September 08)

IST: 05:55 pm: OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro users with the Chinese variants can now join the public beta program to try HydrogenOS 11 based on Android 11. The update is currently being reviewed by Google before it can go live. See the full story here.
