Original story (published on June 3) follows:

It’s known that Xiaomi will update the Poco F1 aka Pocophone F1, Redmi Note 9S aka Redmi Note 9 Pro, and the Mi 8 series to the latest MIUI 12 software.

It’s also known that all of these devices will receive their MIUI 12 updates as part of phase 2 of the rollout. Although Xiaomi hasn’t been elaborate with when phase 2 begins, hints have been dropped pointing to July 2020.

Not long ago, we aired a story about the Poco F1 MIUI 12 update first arriving in beta before the stable version hits units. It is expected to begin rolling out somewhere in late July.

Alongside the Pocophone F1 will be the Redmi Note 9S MIUI 12 update, at least according to a Mi forum moderator. When asked about the release date of the software, the mod says July-end could be a possibility.

Similar to the Redmi Note 9S, owners of Xiaomi Mi 8 can also expect the stable MIUI 12 rollout to begin in late July. But there are also outside chances that it could arrive in early August.

MIUI 12 for Mi 8 is expected to be rolled out in the second batch. There’s no ETA for second batch yet, but hope for late July or early August for the global stable.

The point is with software update release dates, you can never be sure until the rollout actually begins. Anything could happen between now and then that may affect the schedule, so always be ready for anything.

Furthermore, the fact that this information is coming from forum moderators who might not be fully privy to software development matters inside Xiaomi labs should leave you with a grain of salt in the eye.

Either way, we will keep an eye on the developments and let you know when the stable MIUI 12 update begins rolling out not only to the Poco F1, Redmi Note 9S, and Mi 8 but also the entire Xiaomi/Redmi base that is eligible for the update.
