Probably, one of the talked about smartphones from Xiaomi in the recent past, has been the Poco F1 or the Pocophone F1. The device was launched back in 2018 and boy, it packed a punch with its internals.

The device was a real “flagship killer” back in the day, as it housed the then-latest Snapdragon 845 SoC, 6/8 GB of RAM, a 4,000 mAh battery and so on.

Poco F1 (Pocophone F1) came with Android Oreo out of the box and since then, has been updated with two OS updates in the form of Android 9 Pie and now the latest Android 10.

Besides, Poco is now a separate brand and will now operate as a separate identity. And as a separate identity, Poco has launched two phones under the Poco brand, i.e. the Poco X2 and Poco F2 Pro.

Xiaomi has recently unveiled its all-new MIUI 12 UI, which the Poco F1 (Pocophone F1) is slated to pick up in the second wave of the rollout, globally.

As per one of the latest reports about Poco F1 (Pocophone F1) MIUI 12 update, the second batch of MIUI 12 update is expected to commence in July, meaning that the update will hit the Poco F1 devices in July.

Interestingly, some more information related to MIUI 12 update for the Pocophone F1 has come up. As per one of the moderators, there can be an MIUI 12 beta testing or Mi Pilot program for the Poco F1 before the stable version is rolled out.

For a reminder, Xiaomi has decided to stop the beta testing program and instead pushes a close-to-stable MIUI version for the interested users via its Mi Pilot Program.

The idea behind this is to reduce the number of affected users if at all any bugs or glitches are present in the software, that is why the beta stable MIUI ROM is meant for a limited set of users.

Here is what the statement from the moderator reads:

Global Stable for the first batch starts rolling out by the end of June, so expect sometime late July. There could be Beta testing / Mi Pilot program for POCO F1 after the first batch rolls out, so keep an eye out for that.

Point to note is that the MIUI 12 update was previously expected to arrive in July but, now going by the moderator’s statement, it is now slated for July-end.

Nothing is confirmed as of now until something official from Xioami comes up. Android 10 being the Poco F1’s second OS update and with limited information regarding MIUI 12, it will not be relevant to talk about MIUI 13.
