New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on September 9, 2020) follows:

The Pocophone F1 bagged the MIUI 12 update nearly a month ago, but this was meant for limited users with the intention of making the software available to more users once testing is done.

Fast-forward to today, reports just coming in suggest that the Pocophone F1, also known as Poco F1 in India, has started receiving a new MIUI 12 update.

At this point, we would like to believe this a limited rollout of the stable version, however, there is no way we can independently verify this. The new update is rolling out as version 12.0.1.0.QEJMIXM.

Unlike the previous Mi Pilot version that came with July patch, the latest arrival tags along August 2020 security patch. The full firmware is about 2GB in size, but expect a slightly smaller OTA package.

Speaking of, we still don’t have the official download link for those who want to manually get aboard the Poco F1 MIUI 12 update ship. Perhaps Xiaomi is still reluctant to publish the said download link in order to monitor the performance of the initial release.

This is standard protocol when it comes to major software updates and not just a Xiaomi thing, so stay patient as you wait for your turn to install the new firmware on your device.

Once again, we cannot verify whether this rollout is beta stable or an incremental update for those in the Mi Pilot program. But what looks certain is that the rollout is first targeting Pocophone F1 MIUI 12 beta testers before units on MIUI 11 can join the party.

We will let you know when the wider rollout begins, so stay tuned. For those who are yet to bag the update, be sure to keep an eye on our MIUI 12 update tracker for related updates.

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem.
