A new software update is rolling out to Asus ZenFone 6, also known as Asus 6Z in India. The software update is arriving as firmware version 17.1810.2003.144 and is available on the global (WW), European (EU), and Indian (IN) ROMs.

The incoming update arrives less than a month after Asus 6Z picked up an update as version 17.1810.2002.137 with improvements to the version that brought the February security patch.

The latest version brings a new March security patch to the device alongside a bunch of other useful additions for India and Sweden.

On top of the usual system stability optimizations, the update also enables VoWiFi (WiFi Calling) on Reliance Jio in India. This means that going forward, you no longer need a hack to enable the feature. The same update also enables VoLTE and VoWiFi calling for users of Tele2 in Sweden.

Last but not least, Asus has also added a pop-up confirmation whenever third-party applications request to access the front camera in the background. Below is a summary of the changes the ZenFone 6/Asus 6z gets after the latest update:

1. Updated Android security patch(2020/3/1)
2. Optimized system stability
3. Enabled Reliance VoWiFi in India
4. Enabled Tele2 VoLTE and VoWiFi in Sweden
5. Added pop-up confirmation when 3rd-party apps request for front camera in the background

You can always expect some unnamed bugs to be fixed as part of this update along with a myriad of performance enhancements, so be sure to install the software when the OTA shows up. But as usual, OTA updates take time, so be sure to wait patiently.
