[Updated] U.S. Samsung Galaxy A50 Android 10 update (One UI 2.0) looks distant as March security patch rolls out

This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..

Original story (published on March 31) follows:

Carriers are known to be the reason the U.S. market often ends up receiving software updates weeks after their global counterparts picked up similar updates. It happened with One UI 2.0 updates and is also happening with One UI 2.1 updates too.

The likes of Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy S10 across Europe are now being updated to One UI 2.1, but folks in the U.S. will have to wait for carriers to vet the firmware before being pushed to these devices, probably weeks from now.

For owners of the Galaxy A50, the story is pretty much the same as far as the update to One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 is concerned. As of this writing, the device has already received the update in India and Korea.

In the former market, the Galaxy A50 Android 10 update includes an older February security patch while the Korean firmware tags along the March security patch.

Even though the latter security patch is also available for those using the U.S. variant of the Galaxy A50, the firmware is still based on Android 9 Pie. Not long ago, the Big Red pushed the update to its variant and today, the U.S. unlocked variant has picked up the same update.

While this suggests the U.S. unlocked Galaxy A50 Android 10 update may not come out soon, a recent report suggested that the update should actually begin rolling out today, March 31.

Well, we do have a new update rolling out to the handset, only that it’s not Android 10. On the brighter side, you can rest assured that the One UI 2.0 update is coming to your handset, sooner than later. We’ll let you know when the rollout begins.
